The term wellness is defined as being proactive and taking conscious measures to optimize one’s health.
Being an introvert myself (and about 25% of the pop) and a parent, I can easily get burnt-out if I don't recharge, in order for me to feel more energized and less stressed (and to stay sane) I need to make time for myself.
But this can be challenging in our modern day world. I hear that workplaces are becoming more and more geared towards the extrovert; offices with open floor plans, employees are encourage to speak up at meetings, brainstorming meetings, expected to be comfortable with public speaking, meet with new people and perform customer service; leaving us introverts less time for quiet to relax that by the end of the day we feel drained. Even when the day is done, especially if we you are a parent, there's more running around, no time to de-stress. Does this sound like you?
