SOME COMMONLY USED KUNDALINI MUNDRAS

 

Gyan Mudra (Seal of knowledge)
To form Gyan mudra put the tip of the thumb together with the tip of the index finger. This stimulates your knowledge and ability. The energy of the index finger is often symbolized by Jupiter, the planet representing expansion. This mudra is the one most commonly used. It gives you receptivity and calmness.


 

Shuni Mudra (seal of patience)
To form Shuni mudra place the tip of the middle finger on the tip of the thumb. This mudra is said to give patience, discerment and commitment. The middle finder is associated with the planet Saturn, which represents the task master, law of karma, taking of responsibility and the courage to hold to duty.


 

Surya or Ravi Mudra (Seal of the sun, seal of life)
To form Surya mudra place the tip of the ring finger on the tip of the thumb. This mudra is said to give you revitalizing energy, strengthens the nevous sytem, improves health, and the power to succeed. The ring finder is associated with the Sun or Uranus, which represents energy, health and sexuality. Uranus stands for nervous system, strength, intuition and change.


 

Buddhi Mudra (seal of mental clarity)
To form Buddhi mudra place the tip of the little finger on the tip of the thumb. This mudra is said to open your capacity to communicate clearly and intuitively. The ring finder is associated with the planet Mercury, which represents quickness and mental power of communication.
